Take advantage of our newest service available at the library: Cricut crafting by appointment! Patrons must be 12 or older to use the machine, or have a parent or guardian with them for the entire appointment.
Reservation of the Cricut is free, however you’ll need to bring your own materials. Compatible materials and the corresponding required blades are available here.
Those who are interested in bringing in their own Cricut machines can also reserve a staff member during Book a Cricut hours, and the staff member can provide training for additional machines.
Those who are new to using a Cricut machine are encouraged to attend for an introductory class prior to booking an appointment. Stop by the circulation desk or email AWLmakerservices@gmail.com for more information.
What can a Cricut Maker be used for?
The Cricut is a smart cutting machine that uses design software on a computer or Bluetooth-enabled device to cut, draw, score and otherwise create with a large variety of materials. Cricuts are often used to make vinyl images that can be applied to T-shirts, bags, wood signs, tumblers, etc. The machine also makes it easy to create polished greeting cards and 3D paper crafts, cut fabric for sewing projects, and much more!
What do you need?
- You’ll need to sign up for your own Cricut Design Space account. Have your sign-in information available to access and save your project.
- A design. Design Space features many ready-to-make projects, but you can create your own or use one found online. You can even design your project before your appointment.
- The material you want to cut (cardstock, vinyl, fabric, etc.).
- Additional tools and/or accessories (transfer tape, glue, perforation blade, Infusible Ink materials, etc.).
- Object the design will be applied to (t-shirt, canvas, mug, sign, etc.).
