Registration, Holds, & Renewals

Who can get a card:
Residents that live within the Anne West Lindsey District Library taxing district are eligible to register for a library card at no additional cost at the Anne West Lindsey District Library. The best way to determine if you live within the boundaries of the district library is to look at your tax bill, to see if you pay property taxes to the Anne West Lindsey District Library.  If you live outside the library’s service area, there is a fee of $92.00 per year for a library card.

Non-residence Fees:
Those who are not located in a library taxing district may purchase a non-resident card, providing the Anne West Lindsey District Library is the closest library to their residence. The non-residence fee for the Anne West Lindsey District Library is $92.00 per year. Non-resident cards from other libraries may be used at the Anne West Lindsey District Library.

Registering:
To register for a library card at the Anne West Lindsey District Library, please bring proof of current residency such as a bill, and your driver’s license (or picture I.D.) to the library.  You will be asked to fill out a registration card so that your information can be added to the data base.

Borrowing Limits:
The library user cannot check out materials if there are overdue charges on their library card. There is no limit to the amount of books you can check out, however there is a limit for DVDs.

Placing Holds:
You may call the library to ask a librarian to place a hold for you. You may also visit the Anne West Lindsey SHARE website here to place holds, renew your books, and check your due date. You may only place 5 holds at a time, but the librarian can place more if needed. To log on, enter your entire library card number and the four digit pin that was set up at registration. If you have forgotten this number, give us a call and we can reset it. When your hold comes in, you will receive a call or text depending on the preference you selected when registering.

Renewing Your Borrowed Items:
The circulation period for materials is generally two weeks.  Materials can be renewed by telephone or by coming to the library.

Library Fines:
There is a charge of $.05 per day per item if the materials are late and DVD movies are charged $.50 per day.
